ALGAE DESTRUCTION

To treat a pool with algae the following steps should be taken in this order.

Thoroughly brush pool surfaces and manually vacuum the pool with the filter on ‘waste’ to physically remove as much  debris and algae as possible.

Test and balance pool water. Ensure pH is 7.4-7.6. For faster results add Mursatt EASY DOWN to lower pH to 7.0-7.2  There is more chlorine in the killing form at lower pH levels.

Apply Mursatt SUPER SHOCK or Mursatt LIQUID SHOCK. This provides an oxidation treatment to the water. Broadcast evenly around the pool using the dosage chart amount.

SUPER SHOCK  500 grams per 10,000 litres of pool water

LIQUID SHOCK 3 litres per 10,000 litres of pool water

- - - Wait 12-24 hours before proceeding to next step - - -

Apply Mursatt MBA-60, our strongest algaecide. Use 150ml per 10,000 litres by pouring around the edges of the pool. MBA-60 coats the algae cell causing it to poison itself. Ideally wait until the pool turns cloudy/milky before moving to next step - typically 24-28 hours.

Apply POOL FIRST AID to digest, clean up and assist in removing dead algae. Use 160ml per 10,000 litres pouring around the edges of the pool. POOL FIRST AID will restore water clarity over the next 2-4 days.

Clean filter system. Backwash the sand filter or thoroughly rinse cartridge filter to remove  captured algae. A chemical filter cleaning treatment is recommended after heavy algae infestations.
